The Operational Division uses CNS/ATM service to function and perform upon request. ICAO and all other regulatory institutions/bodies have a set of standards for readiness, back-up systems, accuracy, continuation/non disruption of services in case of any technical problem, monitoring,  registering and reproducing events (audio, video), maintenance, testing and commissioning for all systems used by the Operational Division.

Technical Division ensures that system operations & equipment, power sources, and the environment where these system have been installed, are in compliance with defined standards.

As far as Safety is concerned, today’s traditional CNS/ATM systems are not fit to respond to a traffic volume increase; that is why these systems will be replaced by new ones operating through satellite and data exchange networks.

European Commission Regulation 552/2004 has already been adopted by our Agency, and it ensures system interaction. The defined set of regulations describes the implementation of different technologies, to ensure harmonization all over the Europe.
